Tone Up Your Stomach In One Week

Are you short on time and need to get in shape? This article will teach you how to lose weight and gain muscle so that you have firm abs in as little as one week. It is pretty hard to develop nice looking abdominal muscles. In order to see results you will have to both strengthen your core muscles and reduce your overall weight. An easy way to strengthen your abdominal core is by using a fitness device such as the Abs Rocket machine. But traditional dieting and exercising can also give you the same desired results.

When you are crunched on time, in addition to doing ab crunches on abdominal machines, it’s important that you stick to a strict diet. Eat whole grains, lean meats such as fish and poultry, plenty of vegetables, and whole grains. Stay away from processed foods and sugary foods. Eating the healthy foods outlined above will help you burn fat. This will aid you in building more defined abs. Remember that abs are built in the kitchen. Eating properly is 80% of the battle for great abs.

A customized eating plan written down each week can help you stick to your goals. Recording your intake of proteins, fats, and calories in general can keep you on track. To get good abs quickly, keep your calorie intake as low as possible. You do need enough calories to stay strong and burn muscles, so restrict the number of calories but do not starve yourself! Eat many small meals throughout the day in order to keep your metabolism high. This will help you lose weight.

Since you want nice firm abs in a single week, then you must do some high intensity ab workouts. Each day, increase the intensity of your workouts. This will help you build your abs as much as is possible in a single week. You may even want to do your abdominal exercises on reliable abdominal workout machines in order to intensify your stomach workout. Some excellent exercises are weighted crunches; inclined-bench weighted crunches, and weighted leg raises. You may find these exercises excruciating. Good! Only by applying intense pressure on your ab muscles will you be able to build up muscle mass in a short time.

A variety of fitness machines focus on the abdominal muscles and can help strengthen your ab muscles. Although many ab machines on the market are fraudulently ineffective, there are some quality machines available. One quality machine that works very well is the ab rocket. It helps you get a really intense workout for your abs. The ab rocket can also free you from the neck and back pain that is associated with stomach crunches and other ab exercises.

P90X Review - Great Workout

I’ve been using P90x workouts for about 2 months now. I’ve lost a total of 5 pounds, and dropped 8 % body fat. When I started I weighed 275 lbs. For those of you out there that are deficient in math, that means that I currently weigh 270 pounds, still a lot, but I’ve gone from carrying 110 pounds of body fat to only carrying 81 pounds. That’s pretty significant! My lean body mass has also gone from 165 lbs. of lean muscle to 189 lbs. of 100% lean muscle. Holy smokes! Al in just 2 months. Wait, it gets better. My left knee is almost bone on bone at this point in my life, thanks to a skiing accident when I was a teenager. As my weight climbed up the scale, so did the pain and swelling in that knee. When I first started with the P90X DVD’s I’m ashamed to admit that I couldn’t even do a simple jumping jack because of the sharp pain in that joint. Here I am 2 months later and I can do those jumping jacks without any pain whatsoever. To me, that’s a big deal. I have more energy, more strength. My arms are over an inch larger than when I first started the program. That’s what I call gaining muscle and losing fat. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so I’m actually starting to see the weight fall off on the scale in the morning. I actually gained about 8 pounds during the first 3 weeks of the program and it was a bit frustrating. I didn’t have Jillian, the fitness Nazi screaming at me for cheating or being stupid or whatever, but I could still hear her in my head yelling at me for not dropping the weight fast enough. My goal however, isn’t to drop the weight so fast that I can make a GUCCi purse out of my leftover skin…….yuck, that was gross…..sorry. I don’t want to just get skinny. I want to be fit. I want muscle, and I want a lot of it. I’m not in any rush. I want to make sure I do this for the long haul and don’t end up putting the weight back on. This is a lifestyle change for me. I’m doing P90X training at least 5 days a week. I’m riding my recumbent bike for 1/2 to 1 hour a day and next week I will start playing racquetball again. Wish me luck. To answer anyone’s question about whether they should give Tony Horton’s P90X a try, let me just say this…..YES!!!!!!!! It’s an amazing gain muscle and burn fat workout. It’s frankly, the best fitness training DVD series I’ve ever seen. Give it a 90 day money back guaranteed try. If you stick with the program and really work with it, you’ll see amazing results. Have a great time sweating your butt off!

Jack LaLane is as Old as Dirt!

Do any of you remember Jack LaLane? He’s gotta be about 112 years old by now, but he’s still kicking butt and taking names.

I remember when I was a little kid seeing my mom watch him on tv and do workouts to lose weight. Holy crap, I think I remember him pulling a tractor with his teeth, he was and still is awesome. He was the picture of mod hipster in his stereotypical 60’s fitness jumpsuit. I’m in awe of his fitness level at his age.

He’s a tribute to what hard work, great attitude and dedication can accomplish. At this time it’s hard not to compare him to Michael Jackson and his mask, oxygen chamber and claims that he’s live to be 150 years old. Please son’t misunderstand, I’m not putting Michael down……his life and his struggles are human tragedies.

My point is just this …..taking a passive interest as opposed to an active interest in our own personal health doesn’t always yield the results we’d like. The old school, tried and true methods of days gone by sometimes outperform the latest, greatest miracle breakthroughs that are on the cutting edge.

Thank God for jack LaLane and men and women that put thesmselves out there in order to benefit all the rest of us.

Don’t mis-understand, I think technology is a blast. Science is always a blast with the dreams it enables us to have. I just don’t want to be guilty of tossing aside something that’s been proven to work for almost a century just because it’s not “hip” at the moment.

If you’re overweight, obese or even borderline obese and are wanting to burn fat and lose inches while you build muscle, nothing beats old school principles.

As always, there are no short cuts, it takes dedication and hard work. You have to embrace the right kind of fitness training exercises, but most importantly, you need a little Jack LaLane attitude in you.

I’ve worked out before with little or no results and it wasn’t until I changed my workout attitude that my fitness level started turning around.

I give credit to P90X training DVD’s for reducing my body fat, but in all fairness I have to give some props to Jack LaLane and my early childhood memories of him amazing all of us with his feats of strength.

If you really want to lose weight quickly then just changing your eating habits is not going to cut it. You are going to have to do some training. Don’t think any exercise will do. You will probably want exercises to lose weight quickly.

Virtually all types of exercises will burn calories. If you find you cannot find the time to go for an hours walk or 30 minutes run on a daily basis, you will have to find the exercises which are going to burn the most calories off you in the shortest time possible. Don’t be fooled though. These exercises are not easy, the plus side is they do not take long to complete.

Most of us already know that to burn off excess fat you need to do some type of cardio training. Ask yourself would you rather do 45 minutes on a treadmill when in fact 15 minutes is just as good. Well the key is to do your cardio by interval training.

You need to be doing a steady pace for the first 2 minutes, but you then have to speed it to as fast as you can for 60-90 seconds. Return to the steadier pace again and repeat the action. Interval training is one of the best exercises to lose weight quickly. You can pick any cardio exercise you like, to do your interval training

The second aspect of your training will involve weight exercises. I don’t want to upset anyone, but I don’t mean the little 2 pound dumbells. I’m mean you using heavy weights that hit your largest muscles. This means heavy for you, no one else. It doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing. As long as you are feeling it.

Concentrate on doing the exercises that are going to work on the biggest muscles, and hit the most muscle in each training session. This means doing exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench press, and pull ups. Both the squats and deadlifts are hard exercises to do. It is very rare you see people doing those exercises. If you need to drop the weight quickly then doing the deadlift and squat will be the most beneficial exercise for you to do.

All of these exercises will benefit each any every part of your body. They will boost your metabolism, and they will set positive chemical changes in motion throughout your entire body. They will help you to retain and build muscle. Having more muscle will result in your body burning more fat. Take your time and build it up slowly.

Start doing the training and reap the benefits, you will see the changes in your body in a fairly short time. It won’t be easy, but if you put in the effort, you will get the rewards. These are all exercises to help you lose weight quickly, so get cracking.

Workout Exercise Routines

If we were to believe that only professional training is suitable for workout exercise practices, many people would feel discouraged to even try and train at home. Yes, personalized training is an option but it surely doesn’t represent the only one. There are plenty of tips available online that can help one improve any workout exercise he/she chooses.

For instance, if we take walking exercise activity as a workout routine, its impact on the health condition can be improved by following some such online suggestions. Thus, the stride has to be kept shot with the abs pulled in and preferably tight. In order to save energy or recover it, try to alternate brisk and slow walking intervals. Plus, by bending the elbows, the arms will swing more rapidly thus influencing the speed of the legs in a positive way too.

Then, you can improve any active exercise routines by considering changing the fitness training routine every other month in order to prevent the creation of a workout plateau that doesn’t allow the body to progress any further. In addition, when you combine strength and core training with cardiovascular exercises and stretching the full body benefits will be considerably higher.

In case you are curious about the intensity of a workout exercise, you can evaluate that by a talk test, a rating of perceived exertion or the heart rate analysis. Each of these methods are available in a professional gym or with a bit of guided assistance. Never ignore the importance of stretching since each workout exercise will increase in efficiency when you warm the muscles up making them looser and ready for performance.

The use of workout machines such as elliptical trainers may affect the quality of the workout exercise, which will result in a lower caloric consume for instance. The explanation comes from the fact that some people lean too heavily on the handrails, thus reducing effort and making the exercise less intense or stimulating.

The importance of diet for a good workout exercise routine should be our final word of advice here. You should eat quality food, full of nutrients that are burned as energy and don’t get stored in the form of fat deposits. Read some professional informative materials too, so as to understand which foods are good and which are bad for a physical training routine or for a weight loss program.

Does P90X Work? You Decide

Not even the homeless have been able to escape all the talk about P90X and whether or not it works.By works, i mean helps people get into great shape.

As far as I can tell, the answer is both yes and no.I myself bought the P90X DVD’s about 6 months back and started using them right away.  I couldn’t keep up at first and let myself get  discouraged.I just started to make excuses that my knee was hurting too much and I’d wait until I wasn’t quite as sore.I decided to wait. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months and the next thing I knew, several months had passed by.I’m not gonna blame that choice on P90X, that was all my responsibility.

Once I made a decision that my overall health was too important to just let flounder, I chose to get back on the horse and make a concerted effort to be successful with my workouts.

I’ve been using the P90X workouts now for the last 2 months and I can say with a resounding yes, P90X works for me.If it can work for me, it can work for anybody out there that’s willing to follow the program.  But, you do have to follow the program.

This is where we run into a problem. All kinds of people spend all kinds of money buying opportunities, but few of those people ever really do all of the work necessary to take advantage of that opportunity.P90X is just that, a great opportunity!

Sadly, fewer than 20% of the people that buy these opportunities actually do the work necessary to be successful with it.So now, here’s the question…..Are you part of the 80 or the 20% group. What kind of effort are you willing to make to reach your overall fitness goals?

Only you can answer that question.  Are you a talker, or a doer?If you’re a doer and have the ability to stick with it even when it gets hard, then p90x will work for you for sure.

Buying a home exercise and training treadmill can be such as an investment for some people. But it also offers its own set of benefits. Having a treadmill at home most importantly can help make your fat burning workout more convenient. This is especially very helpful for some people who find it hard juggling their work schedule with following a cardiovascular fitness regimen. A home treadmill can be a necessity for a people who do not have the time for the gym or go out for even a brief jog outside. A busy lifestyle is the most common excuse that can prevent people from getting the right exercise and fitness regimen to maintain health.

Having a home treadmill can keep a person fit without the need to go into a gym to do so. It can even be a convenient way to do fat loss exercises since a home treadmill can be used at home. With it, one can exercise in absolute privacy. Not being able to go out for a run just because it’s raining will no longer be an excuse. For people leading a busy life, it pays to have a home treadmill handy. But buying one would require understanding the features and the types available out there.

Features Treadmills are generally made up of a wide rubber traction belt covering a platform bed of two or more rollers. This is where the user stands and so must be sturdy enough to handle a person’s weight. The rollers then move to stimulate motion that would keep a person running even while stationary. Treadmills can either be powered by its own motor or just by the running motion of the user. The rollers move the rubber belt as the user keeps running over it. Motor-powered treadmills, on the other hand, allow its users to enjoy some added features. It can be adjusted to regulate the running speed of the equipment according to their preferred fitness activity of the user.

Treadmills are generally differentiated according to quality and their features. They can either be for residential or commercial use. Home treadmills are considered for residential use and are differentiated from gym treadmills by their size and features. Gym or club treadmills are usually made bigger while the home treadmill is its smaller counterpart to make it more able to occupy limited space such as in small rooms. Gym treadmills are made to become more able to withstand the strain of regular daily use and usually and so have bigger and longer lasting motors. Home treadmills can be made using only a smaller motor enough to handle a certain load for a certain time.

Price Range Buying a home treadmill can sometimes be a challenge since there various models of such equipment available in the market. And the price range can be very different for different treadmills. There are treadmills that can range from the simplest down to the most advanced models. And their prices can range from the acceptable down to the outrageous. In this case, choosing the right home treadmill will ultimately depend on one’s budget and how one may be able to afford buying one. The price range for a home treadmill can range from the basic one in the hundred dollar area to the most advanced models that range somewhere around thousands. The price of certain treadmills may depend on its features, performance quality as well as durability.

Added Tips One of the most important things to consider when buying a home exercise and training treadmill is to make sure that the platform area where the user runs is most ideal for one’s height and weight. This can be known by the how wide the treadmill’s belt is. The common and more popular belt width is twenty inches for normal folks. Not only is the belt width important, its length is also considered another important point to consider. This will help determine if the person may have a sufficient running area. The taller a person is, the longer the belt should be. Normally, the length should not be less than 50 inches long. Treadmill belts should be around 55 to 60 inches for bigger and taller runners.

Jogging For Newbies

Jogging is an ideal aerobic activity that will strengthen your body and mind.  Jogging is a good exercise for anyone.  Your size or starting fitness level will not affect your ability to get started jogging.

All you need to learn how to start running is a good pair of running shoes.  Make sure your shoes fit well and offer adequate support.  Once you are set with shoes, you are ready to begin jogging.  The first day may be the most difficult.  Regardless of how hard you have to push your mind and body keep on trying.

You will find yourself encouraged if you have a way to measure your progress.  Each method of measuring progress has its own pros and cons.  Choose the means of measuring progress that is easiest for you.  Keep everything simple in order to keep you encouraged to jog.  A treadmill will measure speed and distance, but many people find a treadmill monotonous and boring over time.

Jogging at a public park on a roadside with well-known visual markers will help you keep track of your distance.  Without a stopwatch, however, you will be unable to track progress including speed.  Another good tool for jogging is an iPod, or any MP3 player.  Listening to music will help motivate and inspire you to keep jogging.  A partner will also help keep you accountable and will be able to challenge you to improve yourself, as the two of you can have mini-races within your jog.

Before you jog begin with a short warm up of walking and stretching.  This should only take two to three minutes, just enough time to get your blood pumping.  Your first goal as a jogger should be to accomplish a certain distance.  Work on speed and time as you go.  As a beginner you may run three and a half to four miles an hour.  You may not be impressed with your speed, but don’t worry about it.  You will improve with time.  You will also improve as you learn to take your stride.  Some joggers are more comfortable with a long stride, while others feel better with shorter, quicker strides.

It takes more mental willpower to keep jogging than physical energy.  Your mind will try to tell you that you can’t do it.  That is because it is a new activity to which your body and mind may be resistant.  Capture your thoughts and remind yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to.  Calm yourself and concentrate on correct breathing.  Focus on self motivation and completing the jogging task you have laid out for yourself.  Keep in mind, slow and steady always wins the race.  You can do it.  Jog as long as you can, then take a short walk to cool down.  It is also advisable to stretch before you complete your exercise routine.
